Free browser workflows process files on your device. Paid background or API workflows upload only after you explicitly choose them.

Core browser tools do not require registration. Max, API credits, billing, and saved job history require an account.

Your Responsibility

Back up local outputs. Paid background jobs may retain encrypted inputs or outputs for the limited period disclosed in that workflow.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using ExactPDF, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. It's that simple.

These Terms of Service govern your use of exactpdf.com, its free browser tools, ExactPDF Max, paid background workflows, and API/MCP services.

2. What ExactPDF Is

Free tools stay local: Core browser workflows process files on your device without an account. Paid Max/API workflows are separate, clearly labelled, and require explicit account and checkout actions.

ExactPDF provides free PDF tools including:

Combine or separate PDF documents

3. Local Processing & Privacy

Free browser workflows keep files on your device. They use browser libraries such as PDF.js, jsPDF, and pdf-lib. If you choose a paid background, shared, or API workflow, the product will explicitly disclose that the file is uploaded for server processing.

This means:

✓ Core browser tools do not upload your document
✓ Paid upload workflows are opt-in and separately disclosed
✓ Local-tool speed depends on your device
✓ Works offline once the page is loaded

4. Your Responsibilities

Important: For local workflows, you are responsible for saving and backing up processed files before closing the page.

You are responsible for:

• Backing up your original and processed files
• Ensuring your device has sufficient memory for processing
• Using a modern browser with JavaScript enabled
• Only processing files you have the right to modify

5. Limitations

ExactPDF is provided "as is" without warranties. We strive to provide reliable tools, but:

Performance varies by device
Large files may process slowly on older devices
Browser compatibility required
Works best in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
No data recovery
We cannot recover files since we never receive them

6. Optional Paid Services

Core browser tools remain available without payment. Max subscriptions, API credit packs, and background workflows are optional paid services. The applicable currency, provider, price, renewal timing, and any trial are shown before you authorize checkout. Captured payments and delivered entitlements, not pricing-page visits or trial authorizations, define a completed purchase.

Cancellation and refund handling follows the current Refund & Cancellation Policy. Payment providers may handle taxes, receipts, and refund settlement depending on your country and checkout path.
