2. Service Description

ExactPDF provides the following services:

• PDF to Images Conversion

  Convert PDF pages to PNG or JPEG images locally on your device

• Images to PDF Conversion

  Combine multiple images into a single PDF document

• PDF Split & Merge

  Split PDFs into separate files or merge multiple PDFs into one

• Future AI Features

  Planned features include PDF summarization and translation (also processed locally)

3. Local Processing and Data Handling

3.1 Local Processing Guarantee

We guarantee that all PDF processing operations are performed locally on your device using client-side JavaScript libraries (PDF.js, jsPDF, pdf-lib). Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party services.

3.2 Technical Limitations

Local processing comes with inherent limitations:

• Performance depends on your device's capabilities and available memory
• Large files may cause browser performance issues or memory errors
• Requires modern browsers with WebAssembly support
• No cross-device synchronization of files or processing history

3.3 User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• Backing up your processed files and results
• Ensuring your device has sufficient resources for processing
• Maintaining the security of your local files and device

4. Security Measures and Certifications

5. Free Usage & Voluntary Support

5.1 Free Service

ExactPDF is provided as a free service. All tools are available for use without charge. There are no credit systems, daily limits, or paywalls for core functionality.

5.2 Voluntary Contributions

We operate on a voluntary contribution model ("Pay what you want"). Users may choose to support the development and maintenance of the service financially, but this is entirely optional and not required to use the tools.

5.3 Refunds for Voluntary Payments

Because contributions are voluntary and support the project directly, they are generally non-refundable. However, we may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis if there was an error in the transaction.

6. Limitation of Liability

ExactPDF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the service.

We specifically disclaim liability for:

• Loss of files due to browser crashes or device limitations
• Processing failures due to insufficient device resources
• Compatibility issues with older browsers or devices
• Service interruptions due to maintenance or updates

7. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service. Prohibited uses include:

• Processing copyrighted materials without proper authorization
• Attempting to reverse engineer or extract our processing algorithms
• Using automated tools to abuse the credit system
• Sharing account credentials or attempting to circumvent usage limits

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email and through the service interface. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
